24th July 2012: Torch Relay in St Ives

The rain poured down, it was a Sunday morning and we are 100 miles away from the Olympic stadium – but that didn’t dissuade many hundreds of spectators to line the torch relay route through the heart of St Ives. I nearly missed the whole event. Infact I arrived at the roadside just 15 seconds before the torch entourage flew past me. My fault – I was way too casual in my morning preparations and kept at a Sunday morning pace when infact i should have been racing to find a ‘good’ spot for my photos. As it was, my camera was ready enough to grab 4 or 5 images. The flame circus flew by and then the crowds seemed a bit ” well, that was fun but now what?”. I went back to bed!
