Once again memories of thecity’s historic past were illustrated in carved ice forming an amazingjourney through a labyrinth of streets from the Norwich Lanes to Westlegate.

The NORWICHRISTMAS ice sculpture trail on Sunday 16 December began atSt Andrew’s Plain on St George’s Street, where visitors saw Christmastrees being carved from blocks of ice and a forest emerge. From therethey discovered icy signposts to the city’s history.

The sculptures were all hand carved by artists which makes this theonly event of its kind in the country. And this year the trail had adifferent twist as it took you on a discovery of unusual place names inthe city.
