Time Lapse Photography in Cambridgeshire
November 17, 2012
I didn't know they did that with recycled cardboard. It's amazing what you learn about the World in this profession. This week I infact learnt that there are automated balers for making huge blocks out of cardboard and paper. Makes for easy storage and transportation, and also stops the stuff blowing around in the wind.
I was asked by Bollegraaf to complete a 3 day time lapse movie of their engineers installing their machinery in a warehouse just outside Ely in Cambridgeshire. I love doing these projects, and jumped at the opportunity. For this shoot I used a Wingscapes TimelapseCam 8.0 camera and programmed it take a photo every minute between the hours of 8am and 8pm. The unit is powered by 4 lithium AA batteries (which would last for 2 or 3 weeks easily) and the images stored on a 16 GB SD card. The movie was compiled very easily with Adobe Lightroom 4, using a preset in the slideshow module.
While I was there I discovered that the warehouse used to be a RAF hanger and housed a Lancaster bomber during the war. That's another fact I learnt this week!
