All from the Mile Cross Primary School in Norwich.Around 100 Norfolk children are set to 'graduate' at the University of East Anglia on Monday (June 15) as part of a Norfolk County Council scheme to encourage lifelong learning from a young age.Complete with gowns and mortar boards, the 9-11 year olds, and some even younger, will receive certificates as part of a university style graduation ceremony to mark the completion of the Children's University programme.The Children's University is a national project*, offering children aged 7-14 an exciting and innovative programme of learning opportunities outside school hours, with a focus on rewarding participation, raising aspirations and encouraging engagement with learning. It aims to develop a culture of achievement and lifelong learning from an early age.The Norfolk pupils have taken part in the scheme since September, seeing them get involved in after-school activities such as puppet making and cookery.
